DHS Seeks Applications for 2017 STEM Summer Internship Program

DHS - ExecutiveMosaicThe Department of Homeland Security has begun to accept applications for a 10-week internship program designed for students that specialize in national security-related science, technology, engineering and math courses.

The Homeland Security STEM Summer Internship program seeks to help students connect with DHS professionals and gain research experiences at 12 federal research centers across the country, DHS said Thursday.

These federal research facilities include the U.S. Coast Guard Research and Development Center, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Naval Research Laboratory.

DHS will provide an allowance of $6,000 plus travel expenses to undergraduate participants and $7,000 each to graduate students under the program.

Applications for the summer internship program are due Dec. 7.
